After finishing explaining the work he had on hand, Mordo left.

"Supreme Sorcerer, I still have some matters to attend to, so I'll be leaving first. If there's anything you don't understand, Wong will tell you," Mordo said.

"Go ahead." Luo Bai nodded in response.

After he left, Luo Bai looked at the thick stack of documents in his hands and felt a headache coming on.

He knew that after becoming the Supreme Sorcerer, he would definitely need to conduct a comprehensive review of Kamar-Taj, but he had not expected there to be so much material.

No wonder Doctor Strange had spent most of his time reading after becoming the Supreme Sorcerer. Kamar-Taj really had a lot of books.

These documents were as thick as books...

Seemingly noticing his frustration, Wong stepped forward and explained, "Kamar-Taj has existed for a very long time. Supreme Sorcerer, you may need to spend some time learning about it. But you can ask me about many things, and I'll help answer most of your questions."

Although this was Luo Bai's first time meeting Wong, Luo Bai trusted him greatly because he knew the story.

"Then I'll have to trouble you, Wong," Luo Bai said.

Wong waved his hand. "It's what I should do. Do you have any other instructions?"

Luo Bai nodded. "Actually, I do. Take me around the Sanctums and the artifact chamber."

Wong said nothing and led Luo Bai through the Sanctum's doors.

As they walked, Wong explained, "Each Sanctum has a guardian sorcerer whose duty is to protect the Sanctum under their watch. Gu Yi used to be the guardian sorcerer of the New York Sanctum, but Daniel is guarding it for now. The guardian sorcerer of the London Sanctum is currently Xilisia, while I guard the Hong Kong Sanctum."

Before becoming the librarian, Wong had indeed been the guardian sorcerer of the Hong Kong Sanctum.

Luo Bai was not surprised by that.

"Supreme Sorcerer, do you have any thoughts regarding the guardian sorcerers of the Sanctums?" Wong suddenly asked just as Luo Bai was thinking.

Luo Bai did not answer immediately. Instead, he considered it.

He understood exactly what Wong meant.

Since Luo Bai had become the Supreme Sorcerer, he would naturally have to guard a Sanctum.

That meant that unless something unusual happened, he would basically have to remain in a Sanctum and protect it.

Luo Bai had already prepared himself for that. After all, he was now the Supreme Sorcerer.

He could not possibly keep living in his villa like before and ignore everything.

With that in mind, Luo Bai replied, "For now, I'll guard the New York Sanctum. I still don't know much about Kamar-Taj, so don't change Gu Yi's previous arrangements for the time being. Once I understand everything clearly, I'll make the arrangements."

After all, New York was the most chaotic place. The other sorcerers likely could not handle many of its troubles, so having Luo Bai guard it was the best choice.

"Very well. This is the New York Sanctum," Wong said.

By the time he finished speaking, the two had already arrived at the New York Sanctum.

Soon, a sorcerer came up to greet them.

Upon seeing him, Wong greeted him and began the introduction. "Daniel, this is the current Supreme Sorcerer, Luo Bai."

Daniel respectfully called out, "Supreme Sorcerer."

Then he began sizing Luo Bai up, surprise and bewilderment visible in his eyes.

Perhaps because he was too shocked, Daniel forgot that staring like that was impolite.

Seeing his behavior, Luo Bai smiled and said, "Daniel, you seem curious about me."

Only then did Daniel realize his rudeness and hurriedly explained, "I'm very sorry, Supreme Sorcerer. I did not mean to disrespect you. I'm just a little surprised."

"Why are you surprised?" Luo Bai asked amiably.

Daniel smiled, looking a little embarrassed. "You look very young."

Luo Bai had guessed he would say that.

After all, among the Archmages, Luo Bai was indeed the youngest.

He had driven Dormammu away and proven his strength.

While the sorcerers of Kamar-Taj all seemed friendly for now, that did not mean everyone had no thoughts about the position of "Supreme Sorcerer."

"Of course. I'd be delighted to show you around! Shall I take you to the second floor first?" Daniel asked.

Luo Bai nodded, then followed Daniel to the stairs.

At the center of the New York Sanctum stood a massive staircase that led up to the second floor.

As the guide, Daniel stepped onto the first step.

Only after he had gone up did Luo Bai and Wong follow.

The moment Luo Bai stepped onto the first stair, Daniel noticed that something was wrong.

The perfectly normal staircase suddenly began moving on its own.

He had not heard wrong. It was moving by itself.

Like an elevator, it rose upward one step at a time.

Luo Bai shrugged. "I didn't want to either, but I'm the new Supreme Sorcerer. I have to show my strength and convince these veteran Archmages."

Wong nodded in understanding. "I know. I just thought your way of going upstairs was cool."

Luo Bai smiled. "Next time, I'll show you something even cooler~~"

The moment he finished speaking, everyone heard a crisp sound.

It sounded like glass shattering.

Before anyone could react.

A red cloak flew before Luo Bai and blocked his path.

Luo Bai froze.

Wait, wasn't this ancient artifact the Cloak of Levitation??

Just as he was thinking that, Wong's voice sounded beside him. "It seems this artifact has chosen you, Supreme Sorcerer. You should know that it has been kept here for who knows how long, yet it has never chosen a master. You really are lucky!"
