In the Magic Kingdom, the written portion of the White Card qualification certification examination consisted of four subjects: Rune Studies, Arithmetic, Aberrant Beast Analysis, and Kingdom Law and Mission Conduct.
Of these four subjects, Rune Studies naturally tested a Magical Girl's knowledge of mysticism on the Magic Side. Whether deciphering the Kingdom's texts, researching Spell Formulas, or crafting magical tools herself, she could not do without the relevant knowledge of runes. For Magical Girls, this was naturally an indispensable quality.
Next came Arithmetic, which tested and ensured that Magical Girls had the ability to handle arithmetic problems in emergencies. This was also widely acknowledged as the easiest subject. Its scope and difficulty roughly matched fifth- and sixth-grade mathematics in the Material Realm's elementary schools, and there were no trick questions whatsoever. It could be said that any Magical Girl who had received a basic education would definitely be able to pass.
But when it came to Aberrant Beast Analysis, the key subject of the written examination stage, the difficulty rose considerably. Its content was not limited to the classification of Aberrant Beast species, the abilities of Aberrant Beasts at different stages, or their usual physiological traits and indicators. It even covered many points of knowledge on the microscopic level.
Take the first essay question from the previous year's examination as an example. It read: "Please list three functional changes in the physiological stimulus transmission structure of the consciousness body after a Covered Viscera Type Aberrant Beast evolves from an Egg to Looper Tier. If a mutation occurs during evolution and it becomes an Open Viscera Type Aberrant Beast, what functional changes would occur instead? Attempt to list further mutation types as well (extra credit)."
