Lin Xiaolu's unusual reaction caught Xia Liang's attention.
Seeing her stare motionlessly at the entryway Larkspur had left through, Xia Liang reached out and patted her shoulder. "Is something wrong?"
"My position..." Lin Xiaolu said in a low voice.
"Your position?"
"My position is under an unprecedented threat!"
She suddenly spun around and grabbed Xia Liang by the shoulders, her eyes swirling with chaos. "This can't go on! We can't let their relationship keep getting closer!"
"Ah..."
This sort of over-the-top reaction was practically Lin Xiaolu's personal style. After seeing it several times, Xia Liang had gained some experience in dealing with her in this state. She merely dragged out a noncommittal sigh, then suppressed a smile and asked, "Why?"
"Can't you feel it? If this keeps up, that child will monopolize Larkspur's attention!"
Failing to notice the perfunctoriness in Xia Liang's words, Lin Xiaolu was clearly deeply shaken. Her hands clawed at the air as she babbled, "Even now, Larkspur takes her home alone every day! She gets so much time alone with Larkspur—it's just too envi... too unfair!"
"That child lost her parents, has a disability, and calls out 'Teacher, Teacher' in such a sweet voice every day. With traits like 'well-behaved,' 'pitiful,' and 'endearing,' if I were in Larkspur's position, I'd instinctively give her extra care too."
"And once this pattern continues, with them spending time alone together every day, their relationship will definitely get better and better! Larkspur will devote more and more attention to that child, until one day she completely surpasses us!"
"If it really gets to that point, the four-person team will only have two names left! The two of us will become background props, mere onlookers!"

In her daze, she saw Bai
