Shen Fangli rubbed the scar on Yan Xianjue's wrist. "Why did you suddenly want surgery?"
She leaned fully into Yan Xianjue's embrace. As he held her in both arms and heard her question, he rested his chin on her head, nuzzled it, and replied, "It stands out too much."
"Hm?" Shen Fangli made a puzzled sound.
Yan Xianjue's tone carried no small amount of disgust. "My second brother."
As though worried Shen Fangli would not remember Yan Ci's name, Yan Xianjue specifically clarified, "Yan Ci. Every time he sees the scar, he makes that disgusting expression. It's so annoying."
It was an entirely different explanation from the one he gave in front of the Yan Household, yet Shen Fangli looked enlightened after hearing it.
Of course she remembered Yan Ci. Yan Xianjue was always dragging him over to play games with them, so they had interacted quite a bit.
More importantly, she remembered that the older brother who had gone to buy ice cream at the amusement park had been Yan Ci.
That explained Yan Ci's reaction. Looking at it from his perspective, it was like having proof of a mistake he had made over a decade ago displayed right in front of him, swaying conspicuously before his eyes.
Yan Xianjue had once said that his second brother was more deeply calculating by nature.
Shen Fangli felt that she could understand why Yan Ci had recently sounded less self-righteous when speaking to Yan Xianjue.
Of course, his mouth was still as stubborn as ever.
After calculating the timing, Shen Fangli asked Yan Xianjue, "When is the surgery scheduled for?"
Yan Xianjue lounged lazily against the sofa. The two of them were currently curled up in Yan Xianjue's villa, watching television.
Well, the television was merely making noise on its own.
