Seeing Fomalhaut with her butt sticking up, Mono couldn't resist running her mouth:
"Oh, that's an easy-birth butt!"
An invisible blade of wind immediately sliced off a clump of her hair. She clutched her hair and ran off crying.
"Waaah! My carefully maintained air bangs!"
As for Fomalhaut, I merely asked:
"Don't tell me you were doing yoga?"
Her tight pants were yoga pants, and she was wearing a sports bra on top. There was even a yoga mat beneath her. She had probably lost her balance after being startled by my sudden knock while meditating in a one-legged balancing pose.
"...Yes. I've been trying to find a way to calm myself down."
Fomalhaut climbed out of that embarrassing pose and picked up the cup on the table for a sip—it looked like some kind of health tea, with goji berries floating in it.
"What did you come to see me about?"
She asked unhurriedly, and everything about her seemed calm and steady.
In a sense, she and I were alike.
The difference was that I couldn't display emotional fluctuations because of my physical functions, while she simply had very little turmoil in her heart. She was a martial artist who had tempered her spirit to its limit.
"Yuehan said you were going to meet with other Witches?"
"Yes, I received this."
She took out a card-style invitation. The dark front bore the words "Witch Ball" in artistic gold lettering, while the light-colored back listed the time and venue.
It wasn't just the words—even the simple floral border on the back had been handwritten rather than cheaply printed. The neat handwriting made the invitation look like a work of art.
The event was tonight.
The location was a cluster of villas north of Skyreach City, outside the administrative boundaries.
