Waking up in the morning, Miluno had already gone out "hunting."
"Good morning, Barbara-chan~"
I greeted the little cutie eating by the dining table.
"Morn, ing, Ceruno."
To my pleasant surprise, this green-haired little sprite actually responded to me, and Mom even gave her a gentle kiss on the forehead in praise.
Because they both liked Miluno so much, she had previously given me the cold shoulder out of spite, making things somewhat awkward between us. I wasn't worried about Miluno having a change of heart, but she always seemed to feel indebted to Barbara...
Over time, even I started to feel indebted to Barbara.
That being the case, I came up with a solution, which was simply to make Barbara like me too.
"I'm so happy, let me smell you!"
Her hair smelled wonderful, carrying the natural fragrance of fruitwood, and drinking plain white porridge with Barbara's scent lingering nearby actually made it taste sweet.
"Ugh, stop it..."
She protested shyly in a soft voice, trying to push me away, though she didn't have much strength, making it only seem adorable.
"What are you doing today? I have the day off today, so let me spend the day with you, okay?"
Miluno still had to go to the fallen zone to hunt witches, and our days off didn't easily align. Instead of wasting time alone at home, I might as well use today to get on good terms with Barbara. The girl seemed to be tending to animal girls at the forest park, guiding them into human society so they could become true magical girls...
It sounded like a very meaningful public welfare project.
"...It's very dangerous, you know?"
Barbara said that instead.
"Look at you, what danger could little animals possibly pose?"
