Since it was something I could communicate with, that made things simple.
"You're a Superbrain, right? Can you analyze our current situation?"
The Superbrain Cube fell silent for a while, but a faint blue light still flickered across its surface.
"Beep beep. Unable to identify operating environment."
Looks like this computer has no idea what's going on either. Did touching it activate it?
"Then give me a quick introduction."
I spread my hands. "I know a Superbrain responsible for preserving history. If I'm not mistaken, you should have a duty of your own, too."
"Beep beep. I am a Life Management System Auxiliary Tool unit."
"Life Management System?"
The term was unfamiliar, but I felt I could connect it to something.
The Superbrain Cube went on to explain without prompting.
"Beep beep. Record and manage life data from the Old World, then reactivate and produce life upon arrival in the New World."
The Old World... did it mean the Natives from "the Other Side"?
If I was right, "Great Blood" was essentially this "life management system." The duty the "Great Will" had given her was to manage biological data from the Old World and produce life anew upon reaching the "New World."
What a sacred mission.
That also made her ability to evolve much easier to understand.
After all, they had no idea what this "New World" would be like. Helping whatever they created adapt quickly was also part of the "life management system's" job.
And this Superbrain's duty was to assist the "life management system."
But the New World it spoke of...
It couldn't mean Earth, could it?
The Superbrain's crystal turned twice in my hand, as though checking its surroundings.
"Beep beep. May I ask whether you are an inhabitant of the New World?"
*How was I
