Metal snapped her fingers.
The workbench in the center descended beneath the floor. A ring of protective glass then rose from the ground, forming an isolated chamber. The blob of liquid metal I had seen before flowed down from upstairs and formed a square metal plate inside the enclosure.
Everything looked incredibly smart.
In reality, Metal was merely using magic to operate mechanisms hidden from view.
After putting on the intimidatingly named armored boots, I rubbed them against the workshop floor. They did not feel any different, though lifting my legs took some effort without the exoskeleton's power.

I delivered a serious spinning kick.
As my kinetic energy increased, I could clearly feel the boots gaining mass. By the end, it was almost as though the boots were carrying me forward through the air.
