Now, this was their living space.
Since the first floor housed two storefronts, the second floor naturally had the same dimensions. After dividing off the common areas, the dormitory space was actually quite small. The six of them had been split between two rooms: Locust, Sophia, and Xiaoyi in the women's dormitory, while Scorpion, Spider, and Rhinoceros Beetle stayed in the men's dormitory.
With so little space, even three people to a room felt cramped.

I knocked on the door to the men's dormitory.
"It's unlocked."
A cool female voice answered.
When I pushed the door open, I found three single beds lined up side by side. The room was so narrow that there was only a gap between the beds wide enough for one person to barely squeeze through. You could practically climb straight onto someone else's bed without any space in between, so there was naturally no room for bedside tables.
However, the headboards had storage compartments where they could keep their personal belongings.
There was also a three-door wardrobe and a desk. Other than that, there was nothing.
Given the available space, the girls' room was probably not much different.
The newly reborn "Scorpion girl," "Spider girl," and "Rhinoceros Beetle girl" were sitting by their respective beds, each holding a hand mirror and admiring herself with complete absorption. They did not even stop when I entered, as though they were performing some kind of cult ritual...
Sophia was with them too. She was not holding a mirror and spacing out, but when she saw me, she still made a hard-to-read little expression and sat on Spider's bed, glaring at me.
