Faced with the threat of the Great Will, even witches and magical girls, as incompatible as fire and water, could put aside their grudges and join hands to pass on hope.
However, the Great Will would not allow them to rebel right under her nose and steal her power. She intervened forcefully, closing the passage they had struggled so hard to open.
"Did their struggle not make you consider changing your mind, even a little?"
I challenged the Earth Crystal, but received no response.
They had recently started learning to ignore my objections.
The outcome of the meeting left me dissatisfied. Even after pooling their thoughts, even after witnessing the girls' struggle, the Earth Crystal still insisted on vaporizing the moon.
This was the conclusion "we" had reached through rational thought.
No matter how hard the girls on the moon tried, they could not change the situation.
Using the sheer mass of a planet to blast the moon into rubble... no, not even rubble would remain.
We had to stop the Great Will from reaching the surface at all costs. Otherwise, an all-out confrontation between "us" and the Great Will would be inevitable... that was what the Earth Crystal firmly believed.
"Actually, we could talk to the Great Will. Would anyone be willing to hear me out?"
My voice was still ignored.
