Why eggshells? What did a pile of broken Eggshell Fragments have to do with an abandoned factory?

Whether dinosaurs even existed in this world was beside the point. They shouldn't appear in a Mindscape Shasha and the others had built. She didn't remember dinosaurs showing up in any of those games or stories.

...Or had they? She seemed to recall glimpsing a survival sandbox game called ARK on a game console.

The fox girl hauled herself out of the pit, trotted excitedly over to her companions waiting at its edge, and held out the huge Eggshell Fragment she had found below.

Hellcat took it first and examined it closely, but learned nothing useful beyond the fact that the whole egg must have been quite large.
