Piercing sirens rang through Rongcheng.

People leaned out their windows in curiosity, watching the Hero Association convoy race down the street. They scratched their heads, wondering what had happened.

The Rongcheng Hero Association rarely mobilized on this scale. With S-Rank hero Meteor around, nearly all large-scale personnel movements were handled by her exceptional spatial abilities. People had almost forgotten that convoys were usually how the Hero Association got around.

The convoy headed toward the edge of Rongcheng, where an abandoned factory building had stood unfinished for years. Even amid the city's sweeping reconstruction, it remained a derelict shell.

Ordinarily, an unfinished building like that would never warrant a Hero Association deployment—unless it was hiding a vicious supervillain, or...

The convoy stopped beside the cordon outside the factory. A frontline officer maintaining order approached as the passenger door opened and a burly blond man stepped out.

S-Rank hero Frank, known as Steel.

"Thanks for the effort. How's the factory? Has anything changed?" Frank asked his colleague.

The uniformed officer saluted, glanced back at the pitch-black building, and shook his head.

"The optical sensors haven't detected any changes. The magic sensors are still on their way. It'll be at least another five minutes before they arrive."

"By then, even the tofu pudding will be cold. What about Analysis? Anything useful?"

"..."

They glanced at their colleagues nearby, still staring at their equipment. Frank asked no more questions and sighed.
