The global chat channel kept popping up with updates on Nightingale's progress.
Hyacinth glanced at the chat channel again. She held up a torch in her left hand for light and gripped a stone pickaxe that was nearly out of durability in her right as she mined another block of iron ore in front of her. She could not help but marvel at Nightingale's remarkable talent for gaming.
"Maybe it's because Nightingale used to play similar video games," Iris said as she checked the ore supplies in her inventory.
"Nightingale seems to really want the reward for being the first to complete the hidden achievement, woof!"
Jack-in-the-Pulpit suddenly poked her head out from beside the ore Hyacinth had mined, a glowing torch stuck atop her head as she spoke to Hyacinth and Iris.
So there was a reward. That explained it, they thought.
Nightingale was Heartmoon Fox's number one fan and possessed an extraordinary enthusiasm for collecting rewards. It would have been stranger if she had not done something like this.
"How many minerals have we collected?"
After breaking the last stone pickaxe in her hand, Hyacinth turned to Iris, who was pulling another stone pickaxe from her bag. Hyacinth took it from her and asked casually.
The girl paused for a moment and looked down to check.
"Hmm... two stacks of sixty-four coal... and one stack of fifty Raw Iron... That's quite a lot. We've gathered plenty of stone too."
"Then let's mine with one more stone pickaxe. This cave is pretty deep, so there might be rarer minerals farther inside." Hyacinth chuckled and volunteered to venture deeper.
