Mrs. Xie's nanny took her to the hospital for an IV drip. As soon as she felt a little more alert, she grabbed her phone and called her eldest son.
On his end, a meeting that had lasted several hours had just ended.
Looking exhausted, Xie Zhenting glanced at the screen and hesitated before answering. "What is it, Mom?"
"Did you watch the livestream?!" Mrs. Xie demanded furiously. "Those keyboard warriors practically cursed Ranran to his face! He didn't get the amusement park endorsement either. Xie Chen snatched it all away!"
"I know," Xie Zhenting said flatly. "My fourth brother called me."
"And? That's it?!" Mrs. Xie pressed relentlessly.
Xie Zhenting said, "What can I do? I can't go on the variety show and perform for Xie Ran! From what we've seen, he just can't get popular. Maybe he isn't good enough. If all else fails, he can study music at my third brother's school for a few years before making his debut again..."
"Bullshit!" Mrs. Xie interrupted, abandoning all decorum. "How many years of youth does Ranran have?! You want him to study abroad? How old will he be by the time he comes back?!"
Xie Zhenting fell silent.
He knew his mother's temper well.
How much refinement could a nouveau riche man's daughter have?!
He just had to wait until she finished venting.
Sure enough, after calming down for a few seconds, Mrs. Xie snorted and continued, "Find me a lawyer. I'm suing the people who insulted me in the livestream chat!"
Xie Zhenting frowned. "Mom? You said something in the livestream chat?!"
"Obviously!" Mrs. Xie thought nothing of it. "Was I supposed to just sit there and watch them insult Ranran?!"
Xie Zhenting said, "Mom, give it a rest. Xie Chen is the best lawyer there is.
