As soon as the Special Investigation Team arrived, Xie Ran became visibly nervous. He stopped doing his cleaning assignment properly and kept wandering around, trying to sneak out.
The assistant blocked the doorway. "Where do you think you're going?!"
"Do I not even have the right to use the bathroom?" Xie Ran put on his white-lotus act again, his eyes reddening while the cameraman was present.
The assistant did not fall for it. He raised a hand and pointed at the sign behind Xie Ran. "There's one right here. No need to leave the building."
"I'm not used to using public restrooms." Xie Ran bit his lip. "Can you stop targeting me all the time?"
The assistant sneered. "Can you stop thinking everyone's targeting you all the time?! Targeting you won't bring me any fortune! The main thing is, you haven't finished your assignment and you're always trying to slack off. The director sent me to supervise you, so shouldn't I do my job?"
"..."
Xie Ran shot him a vicious glare.
What a silver tongue!
Throwing his weight around with borrowed authority.
Just a lousy employee who did not know his place!
He cursed him thoroughly in his heart, but his face took on a pained expression. He bent over and clutched his stomach. "Ow, my stomach hurts! I think it might be acting up. I need to go back and take my medicine."
Xie Ran glared sideways at the assistant. "I can at least go take medicine, right?!"
"Fine, fine." The assistant stepped aside. "Eight hundred damn issues a day. I can't keep wasting time on you!"
Xie Ran hurriedly darted out, running while clutching his stomach. "The cameraman doesn't need to follow me. That'd be a waste of resources. Go film the other guests!"
The cameraman snorted.
