The other three zombies were full of question marks when they heard that. It didn't seem very reliable.
Locomotive said,
"Have you degenerated from staying in the territory too long or something? Just waiting in place for the Stone Tablet—can that really work?"
"Then what else can we do? We've confirmed there aren't any elsewhere. Waiting here for the Stone Tablet is probably our best bet."
Flared Ears explained.
Shrimp Chaser nodded.
"Fine, we'll listen to Brother Ears. We can't find it anywhere else anyway, so we'll wait here. What if the two Stone Tablets really fell into the same crater?"
"Right. In ancient times, people waited by a tree stump for rabbits. Today, I, Flared Ears, will wait by a crater for Stone Tablets. We'll stay here until one falls—we're not leaving!"
Flared Ears said spiritedly.
"Alright!"
The other three zombies seemed infected by his momentum and steeled themselves.
Then, they all sat by the meteor crater, looking up at the pitch-black sky and waiting for that streak of fire to appear.
Unfortunately... the sky remained completely dark. The clouds churned and shifted, but there was no movement whatsoever.
And so, time slowly passed.
2000 Years Later
Who knew how long had passed? The four zombies still sat by the crater, practically growing cobwebs.
They continued gazing up at the sky, as though they had become statues.
"Brother Ears, I think there might be a flaw in your plan. Are the odds really that high that two Stone Tablets would fall into the same crater?"
Shrimp Chaser's patience had nearly run out.
"Don't talk."
Flared Ears cut him off. "How long has it been? You're already unable to wait. How will you ever accomplish anything big in the future?"
"Oh, fine..."
Shrimp Chaser was helpless.
