After quite a while, there was still no movement around them besides the wind and rain.
"No one...?"
Liu Baiyue frowned tightly, shivering from the cold.
"Rumble!"
Just then, thunder roared, and a long bolt of lightning tore through the rainy night, bathing everything around her in white and draining all color from heaven and earth.
"Who are you looking for?"
A man's voice suddenly sounded beside Liu Baiyue's ear.
She jumped in fright and quickly turned around, only to find a young man standing inside the gates, though she had no idea when he had appeared.
He wore a suit and white shirt, with a bow tie at his collar, and held a large black umbrella in his hand.
His pale face had sharp, well-defined features and deep-set eyes. He was quite handsome, in fact.
Liu Baiyue was badly startled, her expression blank.
"S-Song Wenxi sent me here."
"Oh, come in."
The young man smiled faintly, revealing two rows of white, slightly pointed teeth.
Liu Baiyue stared blankly, her throat bobbing as she instinctively swallowed. She could not shake the feeling that there was something wrong with the person before her.
The iron gate then clattered as it was pushed open a crack.
"Welcome to Black Forest Castle," the young man said with a smile.
"Th-thank you."
Liu Baiyue thanked him, thinking that he seemed rather polite.
She then stepped into the courtyard and, led by the young man, slowly made her way toward the towering castle.
Liu Baiyue looked around and saw flower beds, statues, fountains, and other exquisitely crafted decorations throughout the courtyard.
Could this be where Black Scorpion's mysterious leader lived?
Song Wenxi had sent her here, so she probably would not harm her.
"May I ask, are you the owner of this castle?" Liu Baiyue
