"What? More monsters?"
Everyone was filled with doubt and alarm.
Lin Dong nodded. The surroundings were simply too quiet. There were no other creatures, and even the mutated beasts that had been following them had stopped in their tracks. That meant there was a monster nearby that frightened them.
Cheng Luoyi swept her bright eyes across the area and saw wisps of mist still drifting through the dim forest like gauze.
But aside from that, there was nothing else. The atmosphere here was indeed rather eerie.
"Let's go."
Cheng Luoyi was not too worried. With their strength, they were more than capable of dealing with the monsters in the forest.
The group continued onward, with her still leading the way.
But as they walked, the scenery in the dense forest began to change. Ancient trees all around them had toppled over, as if something had severed them at the waist. Some leaned against other trees, while others lay directly on the ground. The trunks were so thick that it would take four or five people linking arms to encircle them.
Even lying on the ground, they were nearly as tall as a person.
The sight was especially shocking.
Yet what surprised them most was that the cross-sections of those broken trees were incredibly smooth. They had clearly been cut through in a single strike.
"Was there a battle here?"
Cheng Luoyi murmured.
The others began discussing it as well.
"What could have cut trees this thick in one blow?"
"Could it be... some deep-sea behemoth?"
"Yeah, it must have been Bald Qiang."
"..."
Tang Xingwan scanned the surroundings. It definitely wasn't some giant beast, she thought, because there were no footprints nearby.
Moreover, she soon noticed that something seemed to have been left behind on a broken stump.
