Making Amends

"Mm."

Lin Dong responded and turned toward the building.

Little Eight tilted her head, seeming rather puzzled. The boss actually had friends?

But soon, the scent of "food" wafted toward her.

When Lin Dong left, he had waved his hand and flung out a pile of corpses, some of them still warm.

"Hehehehehe..."

Little Eight grinned and stopped thinking about it.

Cheng Luoyi and the others walked a long way without encountering any zombies. Only after leaving Lin Dong's territory did those terrifying figures begin to appear again.

But they were merely low-level zombies. Even ordinary people could kill them, and they posed no threat whatsoever to Awakened ones.

"Luo Yi, did you notice something?"

Chen Ming suddenly asked.

"What?"

Cheng Luoyi turned to look at him.

Chen Ming explained.

"We only encountered zombies again after leaving the Five-Star Zombie Nest, so we can almost be certain that your friend... is the king of that Five-Star Zombie Nest!"

"Oh."

Cheng Luoyi nodded without any other reaction.

"Huh? You..."

Chen Ming froze, feeling that this was different from what he had expected. Wasn't she surprised?

Sun Xiaoqiang scratched his head nearby. Though he was simple-minded,

after everything that had happened before,

he vaguely began to realize something.

"Sister Cheng, do you think... Lin Dong really is a zombie?"

"Does it matter whether he's human or a zombie?"

Cheng Luoyi paused before continuing, "As long as we know he's Lin Dong, that's enough."

The setting sun was like blood, staining the sky a dark crimson. Several pitch-black crows circled overhead, cawing loudly.

Amid the desolate apocalypse, several zombies were gnawing on flesh and blood.

"Hehehehehe, the boss is so good to us! He goes out to hunt himself and brings food back for us!"
