Duke stared fixedly at Little Mushroom. He had long since received Jesse's orders: if anyone tried to lure the Zombie Tide toward the human camp, they were likely Dragon Country's Zombie King.
So this fellow before him... was highly suspicious!
"Let me see what the hell you are!"
A vicious look crossed Duke's face as he reached out to grab her.
Little Mushroom's eyes darted around. She hadn't expected the other side to see through her. As the saying went, if you walked by the river often enough, your shoes were bound to get wet. Using the same trick too many times really did make it easy to get exposed.
So she stopped hiding. With a lift of her hand, countless fungal spores dispersed, shrouding the surrounding zombies.
The sudden change caught them off guard. Many zombies were immediately parasitized, letting out shrieks as they convulsed and collapsed.
Little Mushroom took the opportunity to turn and flee.
Duke swiped his claws, scattering the spores. His hide was tough and his physique powerful, so he wasn't afraid of fungal parasites, but rage surged in his heart.
"As expected, you're Dragon Country's Zombie King! I saw through you! Chase her!"
"Roar—"
The zombies behind him let out savage howls and surged forward in pursuit.
Many of the zombies knew that it was this very fellow who had been causing trouble everywhere, resulting in the loss of many of their Zombie Tides.
Their resentment ran deep. They absolutely could not let her go!
But Little Mushroom was now S-Plus Rank, and she ran incredibly fast. Ordinary zombies simply couldn't catch her.
As she ran, she released fungal spores to parasitize the pursuing zombies, while Mimic Humans rose up to block their path.
Duke and his zombies failed to catch her, yet they continued
