Five days later, I finally obtained Dojigiri Yasutsuna. It was identical to the one at home, sitting properly on the altar. Nothing happened when I took it directly, and the system notified me that Mission 1 was complete.
But when it came to Mission 2, another choice appeared.
Choosing Abe no Seimei required persuading him to join through eloquence. Choosing Tamamo-no-Mae required sleeping with her to make her join. If I chose Abe no Seimei, Tamamo-no-Mae would not appear; if I chose Tamamo-no-Mae, Abe no Seimei would refuse to join me.
A choice between two options—a common plot in text games. In other words, no matter what, I could only have one companion.
A righteous gentleman like me naturally chose option two. Not for any particular reason—just because option two covered a huge stretch of the map. I once again asked the two yokai brothers to give me a ride and told them this would be the last time.
It took about two days to reach Tamamo-no-Mae's current location. When we arrived before a cave, the two yokai absolutely refused to enter, saying that whatever was inside was at least a yokai leader capable of ruling an entire region.
That had to be Tamamo-no-Mae. I swallowed. Then it was time to see what "sleeping with her into submission" really meant.
After entering the cave, I discovered it was far deeper than I had imagined. After walking for around ten minutes, I finally reached the end.
A naked woman lay on a large platform. Thanks to Clairvoyance, I could clearly see that aside from the tails behind her, she was no different from an ordinary person. Her ears might have been slightly pointed.
She was vastly different from Tamamo-no-Mae in the game, but I should still be able to do it.
