Moon Rabbit Kaguya attacked relentlessly, showing no intention of stopping.
Yuan Shikai parried blow after blow. Though he was hardly suffering, this was not what he had come here for.
Yuan Shikai said, "I told you, it was a misunderstanding. Keep this up, and I'll fight back."
Moon Rabbit Kaguya said, "Did I ever say you couldn't fight back? Go right ahead."
Though he still could not make out her face, and her voice remained just as cold, Yuan Shikai could sense her excitement.
If everything was as he suspected, then perhaps spending all those long years here alone had left her lonely.
Now that someone was here, even an enemy, he could probably bring a little amusement to her lonely existence.
The battle continued. With Yuan Shikai beginning to fight back, Moon Rabbit Kaguya's attacks were no longer as fierce as before.
The rabbits gathered around to watch with utterly unperturbed expressions. Some even wore humanlike looks, as though they were masters appraising the fight.
Just as the battle reached its height, the temperature suddenly plummeted. Chilling gusts swept through the area, and all the rabbits watching nearby fled toward the Moon Laurel Tree as though startled.
Even Moon Rabbit Kaguya stopped attacking and began watching their surroundings warily.
Yuan Shikai did not know what was about to happen, but it took no brains to realize it would not be good.
At some point, countless vengeful spirits and masses of fused spirits had appeared around them, encircling them completely.
Moon Rabbit Kaguya said, "Damn it. Protect yourself. I might not have a free hand to help you. Remember, run inside the Moon Laurel Tree's barrier."
With that, she charged at the vengeful spirits, blade in hand, cutting down a lesser spirit with every slash as though nothing could stand
