Hidden in the shadows, Linghu Yu and the others watched from afar, each of them puzzled.
Yu Yangzi raised an eyebrow and once again turned to whisper to Linghu Yu.
"Hm? He came to the Teleportation Array in the central square, yet he still hasn't stepped onto it to leave. What is he doing?"
As he spoke, he glanced at the figure in the distance and frowned. A faint unease nagged at him.
But he said nothing about it to Linghu Yu beside him.
"What else could it mean? He must have realized he's being watched and doesn't dare leave rashly! In Bai Zhang Market, everyone has to mind its rules, so they can't simply attack him here."
Linghu Yu stroked his beard as he gave his answer.
"You have a point, Fellow Daoist Linghu. What do we do now?" Yu Yangzi narrowed his eyes and asked.
"Watch and wait. Let someone else lose patience and test the depth of his cultivation first."
Linghu Yu remained hidden in the shadows as he spoke, with no intention of making a move himself.
With that, both men concealed themselves more deeply and settled in to wait.
They waited for three full days and nights.
Then, one day.
At Hanhai Auction House, the final segment of the private auction came to an end. The few cultivators who had stayed behind emerged from the auction venue amid a succession of spatial ripples.
At the rear of the crowd, the last cultivator passed through the formation's spatial ripples. When the figure reappeared, however, two people emerged together in the Hanhai Auction House lobby.
One of them glanced back at the person who had come out right behind him, looking slightly puzzled, but thought no more of it.
The other quietly breathed a sigh of relief
