Within the seven-zhang-square domed hall, twelve vermilion-lacquered wooden pillars supported a caisson ceiling coiled with dragons. An octagonal glazed palace lantern hung from its center, its tassels trailing down like fringes.
The blue brick walls were engraved with the scripture of the "Yellow Court Classic." The characters flickered in and out of sight with the shifting light.
The bluestone floor had been carved with the patterns of the Nine Palaces and Eight Trigrams. Each trigram position was embedded with copper nails arranged as the Big Dipper, while a three-tiered Sumeru pedestal stood in the northern Kan position.
Upon the Sumeru pedestal sat three imposing gilded clay statues, steeped in the smoke of incense through countless years.
They were the Three Pure Ones statues commonly worshipped by the Daoist sects!
