This place bordered the vast sea. Mountain winds carried salty, damp mist across the forests. Even standing halfway up the mountain, one could clearly see that boundless expanse of blue so long as one faced the sea.
The academy's formations normally remained inactive, both inside and out.
Thus, everyone in the academy, whether mortal or cultivator, could hear the thunderous roar of waves crashing against the reefs, the voice of the sea passing through layer upon layer of whispering pines.
Amid the mountain forests, Su Shi'er strolled slowly along a mountain path paved with pebbles.
From time to time, figures passed him in haste from behind, while others approached from ahead.
There were men and women among them, children and adults, mortals and cultivators alike.
At Songyue Academy, the distinction between cultivators and mortals did not seem as immense as one might have imagined.
Whenever they saw Su Shi'er, people would occasionally slow their steps and greet him with a smile.

This place truly is special. In most places throughout the Cultivation World, immortals and mortals are kept distinct. Only here do cultivators and mortals communicate and mingle without any separation between them.
