Yin Ming had obtained part of an inheritance from the ruins of the Xu plane, giving him a rudimentary grasp of Ritual Studies.

But who could know more about Ritual Studies than Wuxiang Watson, the man before him who had ushered in the entire God Era and survived from ancient times to the present?

Yet Wuxiang Watson had dismissed rituals as outdated knowledge and praised Sorcery Runes to the skies.

Yin Ming did not disagree. "Runes! Of course they're good. They're almost too good!"

"Mental Runes drawn with spiritual power connect to the Elemental Sea, directly drawing on supernatural power to form sorcery."

"First- through Sixth-Ring wizards can cast spells directly. By permanently engraving Sorcery Runes into their Magic Cores, they can also produce divine spells born of insight into laws."

"Seventh-Ring Tier gods can use Runology to deconstruct divine spells into more powerful Seventh-Ring sorcery, even fusing the power of multiple laws into Eighth-Ring Tier sorcery."

"But are those runes yours?"

Knowledge of the First through Third Rings was another matter. It was part of a wizard's basic education.

It was not compulsory, but its circulation was unrestricted. Through Equivalent Exchange, anyone determined enough had a chance to obtain it.

Knowledge of the Fourth Ring, let alone the Seventh Ring and above, was cut off at the source. Only a few wizards who cared about passing on their legacy taught what they knew to their apprentices.

No one would teach another person Fourth-Ring sorcery. And unless their paths belonged to the same system, another wizard's Fourth-Ring spells would be useless to them anyway.

Advanced knowledge of rune construction was monopolized outright. Wandering wizards had no access to it.

Creating sorcery above the Fourth Ring on one's own was possible, but fiendishly difficult.
