Sadi was a tree!

Trapped in Green Forest, he could not even move.

And yet a windfall had dropped from the sky and landed squarely in his lap. Of course he was beside himself with joy.

As for Klee Gler and the other chairmen of the Flame-Burners Association, they had not only delivered the windfall. They were part of it.

So the happier Tree Ancestor Sadi was, the more miserable Klee Gler felt.

His hand trembled slightly as he brewed the black tea. He took a deep breath. "After that, Tree Ancestor Sadi demanded all the knowledge excavated from the ruins, seized every resource they produced, and took over the entire Flame-Burners Association. We had to help him develop the Twisted Treant Clan and work through the knowledge the Beast God Cult had uncovered."

"He also planted a seed in each of us, forbade us from leaving Hell Valley, and made us manage the Hell Valley Flame-Burners Association for him."

"Nothing unusual has happened in Green Forest. He probably hasn't advanced to the Fourth Ring yet."

Knowledge, resources, even the organization they had worked so hard to build—Tree Ancestor Sadi had taken it all.

But Yin Ming had learned that Sadi was still at the peak of the Third Ring.

His mood settled at once. He accepted the scalding black tea and took a sip, then paused before asking, "Has anything changed since Sadi took over the Flame-Burners Association?"

Klee Gler thought for a moment and shook his head. "Not much, really. President Robert Kava still runs it. Sadi just insists that we pay back the wages we drew in advance! Five hundred years! A whole five hundred years! We'll be working for free for the rest of our lives!"
