The aim was to let the illusions span multiple planes, or even the entire Elemental Plane.
Just as a satellite had to leave the ground to give its network signal broader coverage, stepping outside the Elemental Plane made it easy to create a network covering the whole of it.
Such areas had barriers, and the slightest disturbance could bring a powerful being down upon them.
They were unsuitable places to install the White Bone Hell Disc.
Aside from those areas, countless Baleful Entities drifted aimlessly through the Dark Plane.
When dark energy invaded the Elemental Plane, it could turn some dead spirits and remnant souls into baleful creatures.
Baleful creatures could not tear through the void to enter the Dark Plane. But when they died, their lingering thoughts returned to the Dark Plane with the dark energy. Countless lingering thoughts gathered together, becoming mindless Chaotic Baleful Entities.
