Going to See Queen Diana
Adeline's wavering sword slashed through her companion Christo's throat.
Christo did not dodge. Her expression seemed to hold something back, filled with fear and pain.
Adeline had no energy to wonder why, because the man in the green suit was already running toward her, and she no longer had the strength to raise her sword.
He kicked the black steel shortsword from her hand, grabbed her by the shoulder, and dragged her away.
As they fled, he shouted, "Run! We absolutely can't get caught! If those Amazonian bitches find out our sisters are among them, they'll be in danger!"
This was a conspiracy!
Adeline's thoughts instantly cleared, and she understood everything, including the look on Christo's face when she fell.
It was a simple conspiracy. The only difficult part was how this man had made Christo stab her.
At the same time, angry curses came from behind them.
It was the other five. They had regrouped and heard those words.
"Adeline, you're such a bastard!"
They rushed over quickly. Christo on the ground had already become a corpse, though her skin was still warm.
Then they saw the man carrying the Helmet of Nabu helping Adeline flee, and "understood" everything.
"Kill them and take back the Helmet of Nabu!"
The five formed their reunion formation, but a figure tumbled down from the sky. He held a long staff with an iron hook welded to one end, its hook gleaming with oil.
The staff swung toward them from a tricky angle.
Just then, an Amazonian warrior had her ribs pierced by the iron hook and was dragged to the ground.
The other four immediately focused themselves, preparing to deal with the boy in the gymnastics leotard before them.
"Hah!!"
With a wet squelch, a longsword pierced flesh. The Amazonian warrior standing at the back suddenly turned her blade on her companions.
She cut down one of them.
Only four remained standing.
The warrior with the longsword and the boy in the gymnastics outfit surrounded the two remaining Amazonian warriors from the front and back.
The situation changed too quickly. No one had expected their companion to suddenly raise her sword against them.
"Traitor!" The two Amazonian warriors spat.
The companion who had lived alongside them day after day had betrayed Paradise Island? Betrayed her queen?
They would answer the traitor with steel!
They would quench their fury with her blood!
"Finish them off. We absolutely can't let the news leak. King Arthur's orders are to wipe them out here and take the Helmet of Nabu back!" Dick said expressionlessly, stumbling slightly over the lines Li Zu had taught him.
A small scheme had disrupted the Amazonian warriors' rhythm, making them suspect one another and slaughter each other.
Dick had not refused. He had been excited from the very beginning, and he had agreed.
As long as he could avenge them!
Yet the Amazonian warrior who was supposedly "on his side" gritted her teeth, as if she wanted to say something but could not open her mouth.
But the two Amazonian warriors overlooked all those subtle details.
They had heard more crucial information.
"What? It was Arthur!"
They knew they had to survive and deliver the news!
The queen had expended no small amount of effort to obtain the legendary Helmet of Nabu.
Find the traitors and reclaim the Helmet of Nabu!
"Hah!"
As the shout rang out, the battle could no longer stop.
Li Zu helped the female warrior, who had been stabbed in the chest, into a deep corner.
She had lost too much blood, and her face was deathly pale. Even if he left her alone, she would die within seconds.
"So this was your plan? Make us suspect one another?" The female warrior sneered. "You have some kind of ability to control people. Christo wanted to tell me something. I understood the look in her eyes. She did not attack me of her own will, and our general would never fall for such a low-level trick."
"But you still killed her!" Li Zu said, as though it did not matter that the plan had been seen through.
He continued, "Your friendship and family bonds are as thin as paper. To put it with a pointless joke, you only unite when you hold the advantage. The moment danger appears, you'll turn into a complete mess. Heh! Killing each other!"
"We would never suspect each other!" Adeline's face reddened. She did not want to admit that the demon before her was right.
"You really are a demon!"
"Since when was slaughtering everyone in a small town heroic, while someone who has never killed anyone became a demon?" He shrugged, looking utterly innocent.
Adeline shut her mouth. Her breathing grew weaker, and being at a disadvantage in words made her clearly realize that she could not outargue this bastard.
"Besides, making you kill each other was never my intention. I just wanted that big boy who had just lost his parents to feel a little better... You killed his parents and family. You can't stop someone from taking revenge, can you?"
Li Zu spread his hands.
Thud.
A large box appeared out of thin air and smashed onto the ground.
He opened the box and placed the toy meat saw in his hand inside.
From Adeline's angle, she could see that the box was already filled with many plastic toys and plastic figurines.
"You turned Lanna into a toy!" Adeline grew even angrier, while her face became even paler.
"Time to go~"
Li Zu kicked the box.
The box was not closed. It seemed he still intended to put something else inside, and Adeline could guess her own fate.
"You want to flee from the battlefield?" But Adeline paid even more attention to something else.
Amazonians not only despised schemers, but hated those who fled the battlefield even more.
"Of course not. Actually, I'd rather become a prisoner! That way I can meet your queen, right?"
"Great Queen Diana possesses the Lasso of Truth. She can easily see through every one of your lies, and her fists can crush all your schemes!" Adeline said through gritted teeth, though unease still welled up within her.
Was this strange man, who seemed to act without purpose, targeting Queen Diana?
Even though she believed in the queen's incomparable strength and was certain that anyone who dared challenge her would be walking into death.
That sense of unease did not lessen.
"Mm-hm~"
Li Zu seemed unwilling to continue this boring topic. He lifted the helmet with one hand and put it on his head. "This thing doesn't seem that special?"
He shook his head hard, and the slightly oversized helmet swung back and forth from inertia.
Yet his body did not change at all, nor did he gain any divine power.
"You are not one chosen by Nabu the God, so you cannot obtain that divine power." Adeline's breathing grew weaker and weaker, her voice barely audible.
But she was destined to be disappointed. Li Zu did not look upset in the slightest.
Instead, he took off the helmet with distaste.
He crouched down and placed his hand on Adeline's forehead.
"Sleep for a while. Perhaps you'll wake up again very soon."
Adeline's consciousness sank into darkness. She knew she was about to become one of this bastard's toy collectibles, forever placed in that dark corner.
She prayed to the gods to free her soul.
Yet after a single instant of darkness.
Adeline regained consciousness.
She was still wondering what had happened in that instant when she heard footsteps.
There was also the sound of waves, and her companions calling out.
"I'm back on Paradise Island?"
