A tangle of fallen trees, muddy pits, smoke, and scorched earth—the battlefield where Lynn had just fought the demon suspected of being Trigon had been reduced to complete ruins. Half-ash, half-charred rotten roots of bizarre shapes lay everywhere, and quite a few unlucky little animals had benefited from Lynn's presence by reaching paradise ahead of schedule.
At the center of the battlefield, inside a huge pit, stood a towering tree with only half its trunk left, still burning. Its bark suddenly split open, and after a series of crackling pops, Lynn, blackened from head to toe, tumbled out of it and nearly face-planted into the ground.

That little demon surely thought so too.
It used a telekinesis-like ability to seize Lynn by the throat, swinging him back and forth and hurling him into trees. Even while counterattacking, Lynn's mouth never stopped moving.
Black flames destroyed Lynn's plants, but they could not stop him from running
