Golden Island Adventure (3)

From beginning to end, Tobio's grandfather had never told the Straw Hat Pirates anything about Woonan, so William suggested they check out the nearby islands. They needed to replenish their supplies anyway. If William's guess was correct, Golden Island should be on one of the nearby islands. According to the chart Nami had provided, there were not many islands around here. He concluded that one of them was very likely the so-called Golden Island where Woonan's treasure was buried. As for whether there was actually any gold on Golden Island, that was impossible to know.

"Look, that ship seems familiar!" As the Golden Merry approached an island, Zoro pointed at a pirate ship docked by the shore.

"Looks like our luck is pretty good!" Although William could not be certain that this island was Golden Island, Eldoraggo had Woonan's treasure map in his hands. Whether this was Golden Island or not, the end result would still be the same: defeat Eldoraggo and his crew.

"Could this be the legendary Golden Island?" Nami asked, her eyes gleaming.

"Who knows? But we'd better get our stolen treasure back first." William was unsure whether Golden Island truly had gold, but the treasure aboard Eldoraggo's ship was very real.

"I suddenly came down with a disease that prevents me from going ashore!" The moment Usopp thought of Eldoraggo's strange and terrifying attack, fear rose in his heart.

"Who are you people?" The pirates left behind on Eldoraggo's ship spotted another pirate ship approaching. They all prepared for battle and even readied signal flares to notify Eldoraggo and the others who had gone ashore.

"Moon Walk! Rankyaku!" Although the Golden Merry was still some distance from the enemy ship, firing the cannons now would definitely alert the enemies on the island. So William took the lead, rushing over with Moon Walk and using Rankyaku to take out the enemy gunners first.

"Gum-Gum Rocket!" As Luffy launched himself onto the enemy ship with Gum-Gum Rocket, two pirates were unfortunately sent flying by the impact. The pirates standing on deck were also about to face William and Luffy's combined assault. Ordinary men like them were no match for the two.

"Special Attack: Gunpowder Star!" Usopp, who was watching from the Golden Merry, noticed one pirate attempting to fire a signal flare to alert their comrades on the island. As a sniper, Usopp proved extremely useful at that moment.

"Nami, hurry and bring the ship over. If this keeps up, there won't be anyone left for me to cut down!" Zoro shouted anxiously. With William and Luffy's fighting power, the several dozen men on the enemy ship were no match for them at all.

Besides, Usopp was still on their ship, taking potshots at the enemies with his slingshot every now and then. At this rate, how could even half an enemy be left?

"Quit nagging!" Nami naturally wanted to get closer to the enemy ship as quickly as possible. She had her eyes on the treasure aboard it.

"Usopp, leave a few for me!" Seeing that Usopp had taken out quite a few enemies without even boarding the ship, Zoro snapped irritably.

"We can't let them notify their comrades on the island!" Usopp had no intention of listening to Zoro now. Thinking of Eldoraggo's terror filled him with fear. He had to take out every enemy preparing to fire a signal flare, or Eldoraggo would come back to reinforce them. His plan was simple: deal with the enemy ship, take all the treasure, and run away. But he seemed to have underestimated everyone else's ambitions.

"So fast! You didn't leave a single one for me?" Before the Golden Merry had even fully pulled alongside the enemy ship, Zoro impatiently jumped over, only to discover that every enemy had already been defeated.

"Zoro, don't worry about these small fries." William consoled him. "If they weren't lying, there should be a pretty good swordsman among the people on the island!"

"A swordsman?" Zoro became excited like a hunter who had found prey. Compared to cutting down small fries, he would much rather cross blades with an expert.

"Also, I suspect their captain has the power of the Sound-Sound Fruit, so be careful." William had to remind everyone of this in the end. The Laser Cannon fired by the Sound-Sound Fruit was no joke. They had already witnessed it once before.

To keep the treasure she had worked so hard to obtain from disappearing again, Nami reluctantly let William hold onto it for her. William's power was unusual. Unless someone killed William or William took it out himself, no one in the world could steal the treasure from inside his body.

"Captain, according to the clues on the treasure map, the gold should be buried underground here. But digging it up will take some time!" After studying the treasure map for a while, a rather clever-looking subordinate spoke.

"It'll only take ten seconds!" In Eldoraggo's eyes, instead of letting his subordinates dig slowly, it was faster to do it himself. That was his beloved gold. Not a moment could be wasted.

"Captain's going to use that devil power! Get out of the way!" The moment his subordinates saw Eldoraggo's stance, they fled in panic. Getting caught within the Laser Cannon's range would cost them their lives.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The terrifying destructive force blasted a huge crater straight into the ground. Naturally, the deafening noise nearly burst his subordinates' eardrums.

"It's so damn loud, you mangy lion! My ears are about to go deaf!" The Straw Hat Pirates appeared behind Eldoraggo as a group, with Luffy cursing especially unhappily. The reason he was cursing was actually just because Eldoraggo's Laser Cannon was too loud, as though he had forgotten why they had come looking for Eldoraggo in the first place.

"Who are you people? How dare you call me a lion?" Interrupted while working, Eldoraggo turned around in a foul mood and curiously sized up the unfamiliar young men and women before him.

"Sorry, I was wrong. So you're a cat?" It was unclear whether Luffy was doing it on purpose, but he actually apologized to the other man. What followed, however, was definitely enough to infuriate him.

"Are you here to die?"

"Hey, Woonan, are you here?" Luffy directly ignored Eldoraggo's words. However, rather than finding Luffy's behavior amusing, Eldoraggo considered it an insult.

"Haha, are you an idiot? Woonan died a long time ago!"

"Who knows whether he's dead or not? Since my captain wants to find Woonan, leave Woonan's treasure map behind too!"

"Goras, take care of them! Five gold coins!" Eldoraggo said to the swordsman beside him, who looked and dressed like an Indian.

"Sure!" The Indian immediately became interested upon hearing there would be five gold coins as payment. He drew a massive blade from behind his back and let his gaze linger on each member of the Straw Hat Pirates, seemingly considering which target to deal with first.

"That guy looks pretty strong! Looks like he's my opponent!" Zoro drew Wado Ichimonji from his waist and clenched it in his mouth. From the aura emanating from the Indian, he could sense that the enemy was no weaker than himself. He had not encountered a swordsman of this caliber in a long time, so Zoro became serious, his blood also boiling with excitement.

"Could that three-sword-style user be Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro?" Eldoraggo's subordinates cried out in alarm upon seeing Zoro wield three swords.

"Who cares who he is? If it's a sword fight, he's no match for Goras. Goras, five gold coins for every slash, and another five if you kill him!" Upon hearing that he was the famous Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro of the East Blue, Eldoraggo realized he had underestimated these people and immediately raised the price. Even so, he did not believe the renowned Pirate Hunter Roronoa Zoro of the East Blue could be a match for Goras, let alone the others.

Clang! Goras's massive blade struck at Zoro. Though Zoro blocked it with all his strength, he was still forced to retreat step by step.

"Zoro!" Usopp cried out in panic. In his eyes, Zoro was already a terrifying swordsman, yet he had fallen at a disadvantage in the very first exchange. Usopp could hardly believe it, and fear crept into his heart.

"Don't worry, Zoro won't lose." William rested a hand on Usopp's shoulder. Although the Indian called Goras seemed no weaker than Zoro, Goras lacked Zoro's ambition as a swordsman. Besides, a swordsman who drew his blade only for payment was not worthy of being Zoro's opponent.

"Captain Eldoraggo, let us help you take care of these people!" Eldoraggo's subordinates shouted, scrambling to volunteer.
