The wind grew slightly lighter and the sky turned dim, pressing down so heavily that even the sounds of slaughter across the snowfield felt muffled.
He recognized that strange beast.
It had a tiger's head, vertical pupils, and the horn upon its crown was broken off short. A row of bone spikes jutted from its spine, its front limbs were a pair of human hands, and it dragged a long serpent tail behind it. Half of its crippled wing drooped uselessly, and blood had blackened the snow around it in a large patch, yet those pair of scarlet eyeballs still burned with a terrifying, fierce light that had not diminished by even half.
Two factions surrounded it.
On one side were humans. Leading them was a man in black around forty years old, none other than Beast-Taming Sect master Yan Shisan. He controlled a number of ferocious beasts with his hands, and a mountain cat demon crouched by his side.
It was mottled all over, with exposed fangs and a fiercely grim appearance, throwing itself specifically at the strange beast.
Behind him were two gray-robed elders, both of the Divine Treasury Realm, followed by several Astral Tempering disciples arrayed in formation. Each drove their own beasts, pressing the strange beast toward a desperate end.
Surrounding it from the other side were the demons. The first was as thin as a withered branch, dressed in black and wrapped so tightly that only a pair of eyes was exposed, as sharp as razor blades.
There was another demon, born with a fierce face and tusks, broad-shouldered and thick-waisted, teeming with Killing Intent. The ground trembled whenever it roared, and that raw might was impossible to suppress; it was a Mountain Gibbon in its transformation form.
A bit further away, the most stolid
