"Do you need a guide?"
Gao Jing turned his head and saw a male dwarf standing beside him, dressed in rough linen and wearing a fawning smile. His blue-violet eyes brimmed with ingratiating eagerness.
He was only about ten meters tall, about the height of an ordinary Giant child of four or five, yet his face looked to be around thirty.
Gao Jing was not surprised, since he had seen similar members of the Dwarf Race in the City of Ten Thousand Kings.
The Dwarf Race was also part of the Human Race. They were probably an example of Giants whose evolution had failed. Their numbers were small, but they had not gone extinct.
It was said that the Dwarf Race had originally lived in caves, but later, some dwarves had entered Giant cities to make their homes.
It was perfectly normal for members of the Dwarf Race to exist in Ancient Yin Ruin City.
In Giant cities, dwarves belonged to the bottom rung of society. The jobs they did were all lowly ones, such as clearing sewers, cleaning, cultivating crops, and feeding livestock.
Although they did all the hard, dirty work, Giants generally had a poor impression of the Dwarf Race.
They believed these little dwarves were exceptionally sly and fond of lies and deception.
And they were especially skilled at betrayal!
Gao Jing became interested in the fellow before him. "A guide? Do you know what I came here for?"
The male dwarf's eyes rolled around as he replied with a flattering smile, "Lord Wizard, aren't you here for the Blood Moon Auction?"
"The Blood Moon Auction?"
Gao Jing paused slightly. "What is that?"
The male dwarf was somewhat surprised, then smiled. "The Blood Moon Auction is..."
He had only spoken a few words before immediately falling silent
