When Gao Jing learned why the middle-aged wizard had come, his expression turned peculiar. "Are you serious?"

The wizard's name was Wu Bo. He was an adjudicator of the Judgment Tribunal under the Judgment Pavilion, a position much like a judge in the Main World.

Gao Jing, meanwhile, was the equivalent of a law enforcer, which put Wu Bo slightly above him in rank.

Wu Bo was also a member of the Wu Clan, one of the Seventy-Two Great Houses that held power in the City of Ten Thousand Kings.

Compared with Gao Jing, a wizard from the "back of beyond" with no roots or connections, the trace of arrogance in Wu Bo's manner was easy enough to understand.

Residents of the City of Ten Thousand Kings, especially local Transcendents, always seemed to harbor an inexplicable sense of superiority toward outsiders.
