Beholders were a peculiar kind of high-ranking demon from the Abyss World. Their bodies were enormous dark-red eyeballs surrounded by anywhere from dozens to more than a hundred tentacles. They excelled at psychic attacks and curses.

They liked to "freeze" opponents with Paralyzing Rays, then throw their minds into confusion with psychic temptation. Once a target could no longer resist, they lunged forward, drilled through its skull with their tentacles, and sucked out its brain.

Horrifyingly, a victim whose brain had been drained did not die outright. It became a puppet under the Beholder's control, retaining most of its former strength.

Beholders were even more intelligent than Greater Balors. Cunning and treachery defined them.

As an attendant to the Balor General, this one served much like a strategist, though it also possessed formidable combat support abilities.
