Ignoring the students' discussions, Yuun left the classroom with the three children, each wearing a different expression.
"Now then, let's start with the usual introductions." Yuun looked at the three before him, then pointed at Kiba, who had been staring at him suspiciously. "You can go first."
"What's this?" Kiba said unhappily. "You're asking us to introduce ourselves, but we don't even know your name yet."
"Heh, it's only been six years and you've already forgotten me, Kiba?" Yuun sneered. "Looks like you need to stand outside as punishment first, so you can deepen your memory and remember to finish your homework in the future..."
"Ah! It's you!" Kiba cried out, glaring at Yuun through gritted teeth.
"Looks like you remember now. So, do you still have any objections?" Yuun said casually. It was no wonder Kiba had not recognized him. Even if Yuun's appearance had always been distinctive, a child could not possibly remember him perfectly after six years. Besides, Yuun had been going through puberty during that time. Forget six years—even two or three years were enough for someone unfamiliar with him to no longer recognize him.
"Damn it..." Kiba resentfully withdrew his glare. "I'm Kiba. I like beef jerky and cartilage, hate things without any chewiness, enjoy taking walks with Akamaru, and I'm not telling you my dream!"
"Shino Aburame. I like vegetables, salad, and winter melon. I dislike overly strong flavors. My hobby is observing insects, and my dream is to discover a new insect," Shino Aburame suddenly said, dressed in a high-collared trench coat.
"That leaves you, Hinata," Yuun said with a smile.
"..." Hinata hesitated. Seeing that Kiba was already starting to grow impatient, she could only suppress her shyness and introduce herself softly. "I'm Hinata Hyuga. I like... I dislike spicy food. My hobby is pressed flowers, and my dream is to gain my father's approval..."
"That's everyone, then. I trust you all have a preliminary understanding of each other now," Yuun said with a smile.
"Wait a second!" Kiba finally could not hold back anymore. "You still haven't introduced yourself!"
"Oh, is that so?" Yuun thought for a moment. "Hmm, how should I introduce myself... Forget it. My name is Hyuga Yuun. As for what I like, probably milk and snacks. I dislike spicy food and fruit. My hobby should be training, and my dream is to defeat some three-eyed woman. Yep, that's it."
"Hyuga Yuun..." Kiba seemed to have thought of something but could not quite recall it. He frowned and kept rubbing his nose.
"Don't bother thinking about it," Yuun said. "Your sister and I used to be teammates. Actually, all three of you have connections to me. Shino Aburame, has Teacher Shibi Aburame been doing well lately?"
"My father never mentioned you," Shino Aburame said flatly.
"Ah, that's perfectly normal," Yuun said indifferently. "After all, aside from Kiba's sister, our group also produced an important figure."
"An important figure? Who?" Kiba's curiosity was immediately piqued.
"Adult matters. Brats shouldn't meddle." Yuun glanced disdainfully at Kiba, whose eyes were shining.
"You!" Kiba gritted his teeth in anger, but he could do nothing to Yuun.
"That's enough for introductions." Yuun clapped his hands. "Starting tomorrow, we'll begin taking missions. I'll accept missions at the highest level your progress allows, so the consequences will be serious if you can't keep up."
"Hmph, don't underestimate me!" Kiba said fiercely. Combined with his childhood memories, he already had a certain understanding of just how awful Yuun was as a Jonin instructor.
"Hehe, then you'd better work hard. I won't go easy on you when the time comes," Yuun said with a smile. "All right, to celebrate the formation of Team 8, let's go have barbecue. My treat!"
"Haha, watch me eat you broke!" Kiba cheered.
"Well, that won't be easy." Yuun spread his hands carelessly. "Hinata, let's go. Are you satisfied with this surprise?" As he spoke, he held his hand out to Hinata.
"Lord Yuun, will you be our instructor from now on?" Hinata asked timidly, biting her lip.
"Yep. So, does it feel like a surprise?" Yuun asked with a smile.
"Mm..." Hinata nodded gently and placed her little hand in Yuun's outstretched one.
"Sensei, hurry up!" Kiba shouted as he turned back from more than a hundred meters away.
"Oh, coming!" Yuun answered. He smiled at Hinata, then took her little hand and headed toward Kiba.
Inside the barbecue restaurant
"What! Hinata is Sensei's fiancée?!" Kiba had several slices of meat in his mouth and two more held in his chopsticks. Even Akamaru, lying atop his head, had several unseasoned pieces of grilled meat in his mouth. Yet upon hearing this, he still could not help crying out.
"That's right, so make sure you yield to Hinata whenever something comes up in the future. Otherwise, don't blame me for making things difficult for you." Yuun looked utterly calm, though Hinata, seated beside him, was already blushing so fiercely that her little face was burning.
"What's with this? The instructor's son." Kiba glanced at Shino Aburame, who was placing vegetables on the grill, then at Hinata, who had lowered her head and refused to raise it. "A fiancée, and the younger brother of my teammate... Sensei, why is everyone in our group connected to you? Did you arrange this on purpose?"
Facing Kiba's questioning gaze, Yuun remained perfectly calm. "I'm not capable enough to make the academy change its team assignments. In truth, this is all an arrangement of fate."
"Tch!" Kiba wrinkled his nose and brought several deliberately unseasoned pieces of grilled meat to Akamaru's mouth. "Fate is just an excuse. Sensei, you definitely pulled some strings!"
"If you insist on saying that, there's nothing I can do. But Kiba, don't forget that you're in my hands now. Are you sure it's wise to be this arrogant?" Yuun said with a half-smile.
"You! What are you trying to do?!" Kiba shouted aggressively, though he looked more like someone bluffing despite being scared stiff. "I'm not afraid of you! Bring on whatever you've got!"
"Since you've said that, I won't hold back." Yuun narrowed his eyes at Kiba. "Starting tomorrow, we'll be carrying out missions. I'm really looking forward to your performance."
"Hmph! I'm not afraid of you!" Kiba stuffed a piece of meat into his mouth and chewed hard, desperately imagining that the meat was his bastard of a teacher. Even Akamaru was infected by his mood and barked at Yuun a few times.
"Ah, Kiba, you're really full of energy. Mm, as your teacher, I greatly admire your fighting spirit." Yuun laughed. "So let's make a bet. If tomorrow's mission is completed smoothly, I'll treat you all to another barbecue meal. But if you fail... then we'll eat dog meat." As he spoke, he cast an ill-intentioned glance at Akamaru, who had been barking happily. The little dog was so frightened that he rolled straight off Kiba's head and burrowed into Kiba's clothes, refusing to come out.
"You bastard!"
"Haha..."
