A short-haired boy stood up.
"This exam didn't require us to study the material in advance."
His gaze was sharp as he clenched his teeth and stared at Inoue Lingyue.
"You're filtering us out so easily. I refuse to accept this."
As Inoue Lingyue looked at the boy, an impression of him automatically surfaced in her mind.
Yoshimura Katsuyuki, a civilian student. His family circumstances were poor, his grades were decent, and he was highly jealous.
Seeing him carry such hostility over a single exam made her somewhat displeased.
Still, she frowned and replied patiently:
"This assessment method was decided by Lady Tsunade. Its purpose is to select those who truly love medicine."
Yoshimura Katsuyuki's eyes lit up. He instantly seized on the loophole in Inoue Lingyue's words and hurriedly asked:
"Then, Teacher, although I didn't do well on the exam, I truly love medicine too. I aspire to save lives and heal the wounded. Can I attend the training as well?"
After saying that, he turned to look at the surrounding students.
"It's not just me. Quite a few classmates in our class love medicine too. They also want to take part in this kind of training."
"Everyone, isn't that right?!"
"Yes, Teacher."
The other students nearby eagerly joined in, not minding the commotion.
If they made enough trouble, perhaps they could get a chance at the training too.
"You love medicine?"
Inoue Lingyue was so angry she laughed.
"You only need thirty points on this assessment to qualify for training."
"Is thirty points really that difficult?"
"If you had read Overview of Medical Ninja even once, scoring sixty points would have been effortless."
Among the students who had been stirring things up, some had already begun lowering their heads in shame.
But Inoue Lingyue had no intention of letting them off so easily.
She launched into a relentless tirade.
"You love medicine?"
"You've had that book on medicine for over a month now. Have you even read it?"
"This is what you call loving medicine?"
"During the exam, I told you to write as much as you could. Did you give it your all?"
"Now that the opportunity is gone, you suddenly know how to love it?"
After Inoue Lingyue's barrage, the students who had been egging things on lowered their heads even further.
Seeing that the tide had turned against him, Yoshimura Katsuyuki could only sit down helplessly.
Yet the resentment on his face did not fade, and he remained unconvinced.
The classroom was so quiet it felt suffocating.
Seeing the students below looking like frostbitten eggplants, Inoue Lingyue let out a long breath.
Her tone softened as she comforted them. "Don't lose heart. This is only the first round of trials."
"There may be a second round."
The students' expressions immediately brightened. "Really, Teacher?!"
"There definitely won't be enough people with just this group. There will be more opportunities later," Inoue Lingyue said.
"But you need to prepare yourselves. When an opportunity comes, don't let it slip away."
"Do you understand?"
"Yes!"
[You demonstrated what it means to love learning and aspire to save lives and heal the wounded. You have received Favor] [You have activated the Yang Release Chakra Attribute] [You have obtained Yang Release Chakra Nature Transformation (Beginner Level) *1] [Energy Crystals *30]
That could earn Favor too?
Seeing the words appear before him, Hyuga Qingchuan was delighted.
He had originally been worrying about how to change his Chakra attribute.
"Are you going to attend the medical training?"
A sweet, soft, and soothing voice came from beside him.
Hyuga Qingchuan turned his head.
Hinata Ayane was sneaking closer like a little mouse.
She leaned in so close that Hyuga Qingchuan could even smell the faint fragrance on her.
He nodded. "Of course. It's part of my plans."
Hinata Ayane nodded along with him. "Then I'll go with you."
Hyuga Qingchuan smiled. "That depends on whether you like it. Only if you like it can you keep doing it."
"I like it!"
She looked at Hyuga Qingchuan with a slight blush on her face.
"Since you like it, we'll go together."
"We'll ask the teacher for application forms later."
"Okay!"
Hinata Ayane said happily.
After class, the two of them went to find Inoue Lingyue together.
Inoue Lingyue took out application forms for them to fill in.
She was actually quite surprised. She had never expected these two to qualify for training.
After all, one was a repeater with famously terrible grades.
The other's grades were not much better either.
The two quickly finished filling out their forms, and Inoue Lingyue took them over to inspect them.
After adding a few details, she signed her name.
Then she handed the forms back to them separately.
"Next Saturday at nine in the morning, remember to report to the third floor of Konoha Hospital on time."
"Understood. Thank you, Teacher!"
The two responded and prepared to leave.
"Wait!" Inoue Lingyue suddenly called out to them.
The two turned back in confusion.
After thinking for a moment, Inoue Lingyue added:
"There may be another assessment then. Over the next few days, remember not to overwork yourselves or stay up late. Get plenty of rest."
"Understand?"
"Understood. Thank you, Teacher."
"Mm! Go on!"
"Goodbye, Teacher!"
Inoue Lingyue watched the two leave and sighed before turning back to continue checking the students' assignments.
Hyuga Qingchuan and Hinata Ayane chatted and laughed as they returned to the classroom.
The next three classes were not taught by Inoue Lingyue.
They were taught by other teachers.
Among them, Will of Fire was taught by a male teacher named Sarutobi Youno.
Hyuga Qingchuan promptly sat up straight and listened with complete focus.
If he wanted to get by in Konoha, political awareness was essential.
In his previous life, he had scoffed at politics in school. Now, he studied every detail.
Several classes passed quickly.
As usual, Hinata Ayane was the first to dash out of the classroom.
Hyuga Qingchuan also got up and headed out. Hyuga Kaze should have been discharged from the hospital today.
He wanted to go over and see whether he could help.
As soon as school ended, the students surged out like scattered birds and beasts, leaving the entire floor empty.
The noisy campus fell silent in an instant.
Inside the office.
Inoue Lingyue stretched lazily, only then realizing that everyone else had already left.
She tidied up her desk and prepared to get off work and have dinner.
When she stood up, she noticed a pair of dark, round eyes peeking sneakily at her from the doorway.
"Who is it?" Inoue Lingyue barked coldly.
She looked closely and realized it was Uchiha Tsukasa.
She breathed a sigh of relief, and her tone softened.
"Uchiha Tsukasa, what are you doing?"
"Teacher, are you the only one in the office?" Uchiha Tsukasa asked.
"Yes. Do you need something from a teacher?"
Uchiha Tsukasa's eyes lit up. Rubbing his hands together, he entered with a smile.
"Teacher, I'd like to get a medical ninja training application form."
"If you want a form, just ask for one. Why are you acting so mysteriously? I thought you were up to something."
As Inoue Lingyue spoke, she turned around and bent down to pull open a drawer.
Uchiha Tsukasa looked at Inoue Lingyue's back as she searched for the form, his expression somewhat awkward.
"Teacher, could I ask you for a favor?"
"Go ahead!"
Inoue Lingyue did not turn around.
Uchiha Tsukasa hesitated for a moment before speaking. "Don't tell anyone that I came to get an application form."
Inoue Lingyue found the forms and pulled one out.
She turned and handed it to Uchiha Tsukasa, her expression somewhat strange.
"Isn't this a good thing? Why are you afraid of people finding out?"
"Just keep it secret for me, Teacher."
"Fine, Teacher promises you!"
Uchiha Tsukasa quickly filled out the form. Inoue Lingyue gave him the same instructions before letting him leave.
