Hyuga Clan District!
Dao Yi returned home and headed straight into the kitchen to prepare dinner.
The little courtyard was quite nice. After all, his cheap parents were both Jonin. The courtyard and house together covered around five hundred square meters.
After dinner and cleaning up, he rested for half an hour before beginning his daily training.
First came a set of Tai Chi, then a set of Eight Trigrams Palm, finishing with the Hyuga Gentle Fist Style.
It was worth noting that Tai Chi and Eight Trigrams Linked Palms had one set of training methods, while their actual combat applications were another matter entirely.
This was also a common flaw of internal martial arts from his previous life. Without being a true disciple, one's performance in real combat would be laughable.
A genuine traditional internal martial arts master, however, struck with the intent to take lives. A few moves, a brief instant, and life or death would already be decided.
That was why such arts could not be brought into the ring, and also why they had gradually been lost.
Dao Yi had received some genuine teachings. After all, medicine and martial arts had always been inseparable. His profession gave him plenty of chances to seek guidance from colleagues.
The warm-up was over!
Dao Yi came beneath the tree in the courtyard and sat cross-legged on a wooden couch, closing his eyes and assuming the Five Hearts Facing Heaven posture.
After meditating quietly for a while, he began his breath cultivation.
Once his breathing began, the pronunciation of the Chinese character "he" faintly drifted in and out of hearing.
Dao Yi used the Six-Character Breath Cultivation Method of Chinese medicine from his previous life as the foundation of his cultivation, absorbing breath and spiritual energy to temper his body.
The breath absorbed and the spiritual energy taken in referred to the spiritual energy of heaven and earth. In this world, it was called "Natural Energy"!
He, si, xu, hu, chui, xi!
Each minute, the Six-Character Breath Cultivation Method completed one cycle!
He repeated this cycle eighty-one times each morning and evening.
He drew Natural Energy into his body and used the Six-Character Breath Cultivation Method to drive the Bagua Five-Elements Transformation.
Natural Energy and the Chakra within his body circulated according to the Bagua Five-Elements Transformation, integrating energy into every cell and strengthening the foundation of life!
The Bagua Five-Elements Transformation was as follows:
Qian and Dui (Metal) generated Kan (Water),
Kan (Water) generated Zhen and Xun (Wood),
Zhen and Xun (Wood) generated Li (Fire),
Li (Fire) generated Kun and Gen (Earth),
Kun and Gen (Earth) generated Qian and Dui (Metal).
The bodily tissues represented by the Eight Trigrams and Five Elements were respectively:
Qian Trigram: corresponding to the large intestine, brain, spine, Governor Vessel, chest, lower left abdomen, and lower left limb.
Kun Trigram: corresponding to the spleen and stomach, Conception Vessel, abdomen, left shoulder, muscles, and digestive system.
Zhen Trigram: corresponding to the liver, both feet, nerves, tendons, fascia, right waist, right ribs, right shoulder and arm, and so on.
Xun Trigram: corresponding to the gallbladder, upper arms and thighs, right shoulder, nerves, esophagus, intestinal tract, lymphatic system, and respiratory organs.
Kan Trigram: corresponding to the kidneys, bladder, Conception Vessel, ears, waist, bones, marrow, brain, hair, blood circulation, urinary system, and immune system.
Li Trigram: corresponding to the heart, pericardium, blood vessels, small intestine, eyes, head and face, neck, chest, and upper abdomen.
Gen Trigram: corresponding to the spleen and stomach, nose, hands, right lower limb, instep, toes, spine, skin, and other protruding areas.
Dui Trigram: corresponding to the lungs, trachea, esophagus, mouth and tongue, throat, teeth, left waist, left ribs, and anus.
The Five Elements of the five viscera were: heart, liver, spleen, lungs, and kidneys!
Energy from bodily tissues and organs such as the spleen and stomach, represented by the Kun and Gen Trigrams, generated the energy of bodily tissues and organs such as the lungs and large intestine, represented by the Qian and Dui Trigrams. This achieved the mutual generation of Earth producing Metal.
Afterward came Metal producing Water, Water producing Wood, and the cycle returned to Earth producing Metal. He simply followed the sequence without interruption, continuously strengthening his body. It was merely a slow, grinding process that took time.
After seven years of cultivation, his Seven Releases Chakra attributes in this world had reached a respectable level. That was also why Dao Yi could learn medical ninjutsu.
The improvement of his body further drove the transformation of Yin and Yang, and his soul's spiritual power gradually grew stronger as well.
Nourished by Yin and Yang, his Byakugan became increasingly pure. Once activated, it could take in everything within a radius of twenty kilometers.
In this world, Yin and Yang were also called Yin Release Chakra and Yang Release Chakra.
He remembered that when Hinata Hyuga activated her Byakugan at sixteen, her visual range had reached a radius of ten kilometers.
Dao Yi was twelve this year. It seemed that his Byakugan abilities had already surpassed Hinata's at the same age.
"Brother Dao Yi! A-are you... home?"
A knock sounded, followed by a timid voice.
"Hinata?... Come in!"
Once she entered a certain range, Dao Yi had already sensed who the visitor was.
Hinata closed the courtyard gate, glanced at Dao Yi, then quickly lowered her head and slowly approached him while twisting the hem of her clothes.
Seeing that Dao Yi had no intention of speaking, she stopped nearby and began training as usual.
"Heh! A dead last asking another dead last for guidance. How utterly ridiculous."
Not far outside the courtyard, Neji Hyuga sneered as he entered his own home.
Summer insects could not be told of ice!
Because she was too far away, Hinata did not hear the mockery. Dao Yi heard it, but his heart was as still as water, and he ignored it completely.
After finishing his breath cultivation, Dao Yi opened his eyes and rose to his feet.
"Hinata, come here. I'll treat you."
"O-okay, Brother Dao Yi!"
"You keep getting hurt like this. That won't do. When fighting someone, you need to be more decisive when you strike."
Dao Yi used the Mystical Palm Technique, treating her while reprimanding her.
"Th-then... s-sorry... Brother Dao Yi!"
Hinata lowered her head and began twisting the hem of her clothes again.
She had sparred with Neji Hyuga today and had quite a few minor injuries on her body.
"The person you should apologize to isn't me. It's yourself."
"Forget it. Your personality isn't actually wrong. Treating others kindly is a beautiful quality. What is wrong is this cruel world."
Dao Yi rubbed Hinata's little head and smiled as he comforted her.
Hinata stared blankly at Dao Yi. Her little face gradually reddened, and steam began to rise from her head.
Dao Yi hurriedly withdrew his hand, interrupting Hinata's spellcasting. Damn it, I almost turned her into a steam princess again!
"Hinata! Come find me by the river outside the clan district at six tomorrow morning. That's enough for today. Go back and rest first."
"O-okay, Brother Dao Yi!"
After bathing, he read for two hours before turning off the lights and going to sleep.
Another peaceful, leisurely day came to an end.
Early the next morning, at around five, Dao Yi opened his eyes on time.
After washing up, he headed for the small river in the forest outside the clan district.
The moment he reached his destination, a figure landed in front of Dao Yi.
"Dao Yi!... Shisui is dead."
Izumi Uchiha's hair was disheveled, and her eyes were bloodshot. Her face was taut, filled with exhaustion and unease!
"Then what do you plan to do next?"
Dao Yi sighed inwardly. Once I settle the karma between Izumi Uchiha and me, everything else will have nothing to do with me!
"I... I don't know."
"The Uchiha Clan's destruction is already inevitable... Izumi, you don't have much time left. I hope you think this through."
Dao Yi glanced at the forest behind him, then closed his mouth and said nothing more.
The sun had yet to rise, and the forest was pitch-black, like a demonic beast waiting to devour people.
"Dao Yi! You must have a way to resolve the Uchiha Clan's predicament, don't you?"
Izumi Uchiha stared fixedly at Dao Yi, her voice pleading.
There were many people in the Uchiha Clan whom she cared about. She truly could not leave alone.
"I'm only a lowly Genin. How could I possibly have that kind of ability?"
Dao Yi sat down cross-legged and ignored Izumi Uchiha.
Izumi Uchiha waited for several minutes. Seeing that he was unwilling to speak, she could only leave helplessly.
