Harry had been defending Fred and George's dignity, because they were his friends.
Besides, Flint's humiliation had gone too far. The Weasley family had once struggled through hard times and had always been the subject of private gossip.
While Harry was standing up for them, Malfoy was defending Slytherin's honor.
He had entered the team and gained Flint and the others' support because his father had sponsored the team with seven Nimbus 2001s and had persuaded Severus Snape to grant him a place on the team.
Of course, Malfoy himself had been eager and hopeful as well. He was no stranger to Quidditch and had even trained privately.
Now that Harry had suddenly attacked Flint, Malfoy saw it as a slap in his own face.
Though Flint was the captain, Malfoy had already treated him like one of his lackeys.
They said that even when beating a dog, one should consider its owner. Hitting Flint was the same as hitting him. How could he not be angry?
Watching the two confront each other, Wood immediately felt a headache coming on. Though he greatly disliked Flint, he had not expected things to escalate so suddenly.
No matter what, he absolutely could not let a private fight break out.
So Wood hurriedly flew down and stood between them. "The school does not allow private fights or the casual use of magic. You two should not make such a mistake."
"If you want to fight, we support you, Harry." Fred and George landed beside Harry, glaring at Malfoy as they spoke grimly.
"What are you doing?" Wood looked at Fred and George in displeasure. "Are you trying to make this worse and get yourselves kicked off the team?"
Fred and George did not answer Wood. They merely continued glaring fiercely at Malfoy.
