Chapter Sixty-Two
"You're right." He Meng nodded, then immediately felt something was off. "Why do I feel like you're so much like someone?"
"???"
"He talks like you too—sarcastic and weird, yet somehow full of sense."
"...I'll take that as a compliment."
"Oh, right, Jiang Hansheng. Did filming that variety show with him rub off on you?" He Meng looked him over, unable to believe this sort of thing could actually be contagious.
"..." If you say so.
We people of Great Qing never admit defeat when it comes to the art of sarcasm.
He Meng stayed to help Li Wenchuan tidy up the apartment, gave him a few more reminders, and forced him to make a Weibo post to keep up appearances. Looking at that post, He Meng suddenly wanted to give up again. She said nothing more, pulled the borrowed trolley, and headed for the door.
She had also gone downstairs earlier to pick up the hen someone had brought back from far away for Li Wenchuan. It was time for her to leave.
"Your chicken really is one of a kind." She stroked the soft feathers near its neck. "I'll return the trolley for you. Remember to talk to Director Yang."
The Crown Prince Goes on Strike also needed to be put on the schedule. Li Wenchuan had been unable to practice because of the show, but now that he was back, he needed to put in a good performance. He should not act like a hands-off boss and leave people with a bad impression.
Li Wenchuan understood. Looking at his Weibo post about how delicious tonight's takeout had been, he could not figure out what was wrong with it.
This was clearly a very everyday post. How thoughtful. It was like being a close, understanding friend.
