"Eat up, there's plenty!"

Miao Mu was preparing breakfast at home and generously invited everyone to dig in. He fished a pot of boiled potatoes out of the water, serving the steaming, oversized potatoes like loaves of bread.

There was also a bowl of spicy meat sauce on the side, chunks of boiled corn, a bucket of milk on the table, and a whole pot of hard-boiled eggs.

Yawning, Jason came downstairs after washing up. He skillfully grabbed a potato, peeled it, mashed it into a bowl, poured in some meat broth and stirred it, then cracked open a boiled egg, peeled it, stuffed it into his mouth, and started eating.

Only then did Jason notice Barry sitting across from him with a cup of milk. Barry awkwardly waved in greeting.

"Hello, Jason." Barry raised his glass of milk, a hint of ease and delight in his expression.

"You know me?" Jason asked curiously. He chewed and swallowed the egg in his mouth, then grabbed a piece of corn and began eating that too.

"More or less. You're pretty famous, after all..." Barry said vaguely, offering no explanation as though he had merely mentioned it in passing.

Barry turned to look at the Time Grandfather Clock by the wall. He was wearing one of Miao Mu's police uniforms, though without a badge.

Still, he really did carry himself like a cop. After all, it had been his profession for over a decade, even if he had not worked on the front lines and had instead been an expert in forensic examination.

Jason shook his head and continued battling the food on the table. He filled his stomach in a few bites, then checked the time and realized he was nearly late, though he still had enough time to get there.
