Before Faust could get up from beside the wall, Miao Mu summoned all his strength, raised his leg, and stomped down hard.

With a thud, Faust's body exploded beneath his foot, turning into a mass of pitch-black viscous liquid that quickly slithered across the floor.

"Trying to run?" Seeing Faust without a body, Miao Mu immediately pulled out the Holy Flame Hammer from his pocket. White holy flames gathered in his hand as he drove it into the ground with a backhand motion, unleashing the flames at maximum power.

A ring of white fire rapidly spread outward around Miao Mu. The black viscous liquid, like slime, instantly burned into black smoke upon touching the white flames.

Something wasn't right!

Miao Mu stared at the black liquid that had been burned clean from the ground. Was it really that easy to deal with him? That was seriously wrong...

"Faust? Are you dead?"

Miao Mu rose slowly, puzzled. The holy flames in his hand did not recede; instead, they blazed even more fiercely.

"Not dead." Faust's voice sounded from behind him.

Miao Mu spun around at once and slashed with the holy flames in his hand. The fire carved a deep mark into the wall, but the black silhouette on it remained completely unmoved.

"Magic?" Miao Mu looked at the shadow on the wall. It was as though it had been painted there with ink, yet it carried the presence of a person.

"One kind of black magic. Nothing unusual."

Faust's eyes lit up within the shadow. His gaze lingered on the Holy Flame Hammer in Miao Mu's hand for a few seconds. It was probably a holy artifact of the Holy See, but he had no interest in it.

"Can you tell me your name?"

Faust asked in a low voice.
