"Who?"
Miao Mu reacted at once, his gaze warily sweeping the surroundings as he reached for the revolver at his waist.
"Don't be so tense. We've met before. Though I'm not quite sure how you obtained one of my powers, I admire you."
The voice appeared in Miao Mu's mind. He could not make out who it was, nor could he think of anyone it might be. The only similar one was the Joker.
The Joker in Hell had once spoken to him this way. Miao Mu's mind raced, and he basically determined that this voice had come from Hell, though he did not know who it belonged to.
The Devil King? The Joker? Or a demon?
"When you said... you could save her, what did you mean?"
Miao Mu asked cautiously, his fingers resting on Brucie's pulse. He could feel that her life signs were stable.
"Uh-oh. You don't actually think your little woman will survive, do you? I can sense a terrifying black shadow closing in around her. Even if you bring her back to life, you can't change her fate. She's walking through a destiny written by someone else."
"What do you mean?" Miao Mu hurriedly pressed.
"I don't know, because that black shadow and I aren't in the same universe. But if I get the chance, I'd really like to see him for myself. You really can bring surprises. Hahahahahaha."
The other party burst into delighted laughter. It was so loud that Miao Mu could barely think, and he could only grit his teeth and endure it.
"If I agree, how will you save her?"
"Let me think... How about I show you the truth of the world? That black shadow's shroud is merely covering your eyes."
"Eyes?"
"Everything you do is part of his plan.
