Brucie had just finished handling official business when she noticed her phone vibrating on the table and picked it up.
The caller ID read: "Batman."
"Why was this guy calling me?"
Curious, Brucie casually answered the call.
"Come open the door. I brought your child back."
"What?"
Before Brucie could ask anything else, Batman hung up. She hurriedly got to her feet and headed outside.
She unlocked the door and pulled it open.
Brucie saw Jason standing there with a helpless expression, held by the collar in Batman's grip.
Like a kid who had smashed someone's window with a slingshot and been dragged to their door to answer for it, Jason was deeply embarrassed...
Brucie could not help laughing. Then she glanced behind Batman at Dick, who had been left in the car and was trying to pry open the door to slip away.
"Fine, they are both mine. Can I take them both in?"
"You are not even going to ask why?"
