In the old Kent house, this was probably the first time they had hosted so many guests since Mr. Kent passed away.
Martha Kent could barely stop smiling as she bustled around the kitchen, entertaining the guests. Especially with Barry, a bottomless pit, taking Miao Mu's wallet and sweeping through the town supermarket at lightning speed.
He had bought a mountain of food and piled it in the kitchen, waiting to be fed.
In the living room, Clark sat on the sofa with Miao Mu and the others, watching a virtual screen hovering in midair.
"So they came for me?"
Clark looked at the photograph on the screen. He did remember that spaceship—it was a Kryptonian creation.
A reconnaissance vessel fitted with high-speed engines.
"I only mentioned it to you, and you came running over. I could only explain it here. Still, your milk is pretty good."
Miao Mu held a glass and drank milk taken from the refrigerator. It was absolutely fresh and pure, bought only that morning.
The cow that produced it was on the farm across the road.
"If you like it, have some more. And... thank you."
Clark nodded in thanks. He had already seen the bank statements his mother had hidden in a drawer.
But the debt listed on them had been settled. The corn bought at triple the price had saved the family farm and house.
It also made Clark blame himself for not being attentive enough. He should have come back more often. At the very least... he should have known about this.
"Thanking me is pointless. I did it for business interests and my own purposes. We should discuss filming a Mother's Day-themed event instead. We already have the cast."
