Li Xuanbing gave a slight nod without speaking. She walked toward the arena without making a sound, delicate frost flowers forming beneath her feet before silently melting away the next instant.

Across from her, the Sea Shark Gang's second contestant stepped onto the arena.

Hong Kui, a level sixty-nine assault-type Battle Soul Emperor, possessed the Deep-Sea Mad Shark martial soul. His bare upper body was covered in scars, and the shark tattoo seemed to come alive as his muscles rippled. The instant he saw Li Xuanbing, he bared his uneven sharp teeth in a grin.

"Little lady," he said, licking his lips, "your big brother will take real good care of you later."

A wave of boos rose from the stands. The Sea Shark Gang's conduct was notorious throughout Blue Moon City, but such openly filthy remarks were still beneath contempt.

Li Xuanbing acted as though she had not heard him. She stopped at the center of the arena, thirty paces away from Hong Kui—neither too close nor too far.

The referee frowned at Hong Kui
