Although some time had gone by, Qian had done his best to control the tempo, preventing the Mist Ninja from collapsing because they saw no hope, or changing their target.
But after making no progress for so long, they had still exhausted their patience and were faintly starting to consider withdrawing from the battlefield.
This was something Qian absolutely did not want to see.
Fortunately, he had stalled long enough.
By now, Uchiha Shisui and the others had already reached the area nearby.
So he no longer had to worry about the Mist Ninja suddenly pulling out.
At worst, he would just command the two teams and complete a pincer attack on these Mist Ninja.
However, the resolve of these Mist Ninja to attack was a bit stronger than Qian had expected. Though they wavered, they never truly retreated.
And because of that, they missed their final chance to get away cleanly.
When Uchiha Shisui and the others arrived on the battlefield, with the help of his Sharingan, Qian could clearly see panic appearing on the faces of quite a few people among the Mist Ninja force.
Clearly, they had not expected Konoha's reinforcements to arrive so quickly.
Uchiha Shisui's group might have only had a handful of people, but every one of them was a powerful jonin. That was far more intimidating than dozens or even hundreds of low- and mid-ranked ninja.
Granted, in order to get here as fast as possible, Uchiha Shisui and the others had hardly rested along the way, and both their Chakra and stamina had been consumed quite a bit.
But jonin were still jonin. Their combat strength was far beyond what ordinary low- and mid-ranked ninja could compare to.
And over this
