Falling in the Red Room Base

Siberia.

This was a place that made people immediately think of the cold, snow, vast emptiness, exile, and digging potatoes.

In the dark, all the soldiers dropped prone in the corridors, holding their breath and closing their eyes to await the subsequent strike.

Yet they waited until more than ten minutes had passed.

The base even restored its power and lit up again, but the anticipated follow-up attack never came.

The officer who had fled quickly earlier reappeared at the distant corridor entrance once the lights came on.

"Get up, all of you cowards, don't force me to kick your shriveled asses with my combat boots!"

The officer was clearly badly frightened as well, but to project authority he had to put up a bold front and spew curses.

Standing upon this long-overdue cold and vast land, the girl glanced back at the base, her expression resolute as she murmured softly.
