"Helena was right. You're a madman!" Xiwen stared fixedly at Bloody Baron and spoke coldly.
Baron's eyes slowly regained their focus, as though he had just awakened from a dream.
"What did you do to me?" His eyes suddenly widened as he shouted. His voice was full of panic, even carrying a trace of a sob.
Xiwen had not indulged his desires at all. He had merely bound him in place.
"Helena..." He looked at Helena and opened his mouth, but he had no idea what to say.
Yet Helena had no idea what he had seen. She simply drifted over quickly and carefully examined Xiwen from head to toe.
"Are you really all right?" Her face was filled with worry. She even took Xiwen's left arm into her embrace, craning her neck to inspect the left shoulder where he had been struck earlier.
Xiwen chuckled and tilted his head to look at Helena's lowered, long, curled eyelashes. "I'm really fine. Don't forget, I'm a ghost."
Thinking of Baron's deepest sealed memories after becoming a ghost, and that final bloody scene among them, Xiwen's mood darkened again.
Xiwen could not help glancing at Helena's delicate, fair collarbone. He knew that beneath that beautiful collarbone, on the left side of her chest, lay a hideous scar hidden beneath her clothing.
"What are you looking at?" Helena had raised her head by then. She looked at Xiwen with a hint of shyness and reproached him playfully.
Only then did Xiwen realize that his gaze had landed somewhere inappropriate. Embarrassed, he raised his head and looked toward the dusty gray ceiling of the hall.
"Nothing. I was just distracted..." He decided not to tell Helena what he had just learned yet, speaking with a touch of guilt.
Helena rolled her eyes at him.
