"Who's there!"
Zhang Yang had reacted first. The moment darkness descended, he cast a Shield Charm to protect everyone.
With his current strength, unless a Temple Mage launched a full-force attack, no one could hope to shake this seemingly thin defense.
"Foolish humans always seek to challenge powerful creatures with their spirit of sacrifice."
A man in a light gray suit emerged from the darkness, flipping a coin between his fingers.
"Annoying light."
The suited man frowned at the Illumination Spell Zhang Yang had cast. "Still, it's not bad to have light send you to your graves."
"Go!"
With a wave of his hand, countless cursed Carrion Fiends swarmed forward, nearly bursting through the walls!
"Watoomb's Wind!"
Zhang Yang raised a hand, and two miniature hurricanes suddenly appeared before the four of them, forming a barrier.
"Bolts of Balthakk!"
Then Zhang Yang slapped both hands against the ground. Two bright red bolts of lightning, like Thunder Dragons, charged into the horde of Carrion Fiends.
"Damn mage!"
The suited man furrowed his brow and waved his hand, raising a shield formed from dark power in front of himself.
As for those Carrion Fiends?
They were merely cannon fodder. He did not care about them!
The Bolts of Balthakk easily annihilated hundreds of Carrion Fiends, but the cannon fodder from Hell seemed endless. Their numbers did not decrease at all!
"Tsunami!"
Mera attacked as well. Her red hair fluttered wildly under the surge of magic as a miniature tsunami materialized out of thin air, sweeping away who knew how many Carrion Fiends.
"Quiet."
The suited man glanced back. After seeing that his cannon fodder had been washed away by the miniature tsunami and would need some time to return, his eyes glowed red as he looked at Mera.
"Ugh..."
Mera let out a muffled groan. Her spell was interrupted, and she could not hold back a mouthful of blood, which she spat out.
"Mera!"
Harry panicked. He caught Mera as she was about to fall, then turned and glared furiously at the suited man, casting Hogwarts' Killing Curse. "Avada Kedavra!"
"Such trivial dark magic..."
The suited man did not care about the Killing Curse. He had complete confidence in the shield before him.
Sure enough, when the Killing Curse struck the dark shield, it did not even create a ripple, as though it had been swallowed.
"Harry!"
Seeing this, Zhang Yang knew that no one but himself could break through that defense. He said to Harry, "Take care of the two ladies. Leave this guy to me!"
"Okay!"
Harry also knew that with his current strength, he could deal with ordinary demons, but if he encountered powerful demons from Hell, he would only be serving himself up on a platter.
"You want to fight me?"
The suited man looked at Zhang Yang with utter disdain. "It's useless. The gap between us is far too great."
"Bolts of Balthakk!"
Zhang Yang did not answer. He simply kept releasing bright red lightning.
"Useless!"
Facing the two Bolts of Balthakk rushing toward him, the suited man shook his head. "I told you, it's usel—holy shit!"
Before he could finish speaking, he realized something was wrong.
Were there really only two bolts of bright red lightning coming at him?
The lightning filling the entire room numbered not two, but perhaps two hundred!
Faced with such a sight, the suited man's face turned green, and his scarlet eyes were filled with disbelief.
"This... this is impossible!"
The moment he spoke, it was as if he had triggered some sort of switch. Countless bolts of lightning struck instantly, turning him into a lump of charred flesh.
Those words became his last.
"No... impossible!"
Perhaps the suited man was too powerful. Even after being reduced to charcoal, he did not die immediately. Instead, he repeated the same words in a hoarse voice. "Impossible!"
"Vishanti's Sacred Sword!"
Facing the suited-man-shaped lump of charcoal, Zhang Yang showed no intention of stopping. He turned and summoned long swords burning with sacred flames, sending them flying.
One, two... until Vishanti's Sacred Swords covered the suited man's body and the sacred flames of the God of White Magic burned him into grains of sand, Zhang Yang still had no intention of stopping.
"Mirror Dimension!"
"Hoggoth's Elder Body!"
A Mirror Dimension swallowed the grains of sand. Then, a Hoggoth's Elder Body spell turned the Mirror Dimension into a sea of butterflies. Only then did Zhang Yang stop.
"That should do it, right?"
Zhang Yang muttered to himself after stopping, completely failing to notice the stunned expressions on the faces of the three bystanders behind him.
"Is he... always like this?"
Angela spoke softly to Harry, her eyes filled with terror. "So... cautious?"
"I..."
Harry desperately wanted to complain, but when the words reached his lips, he did not dare say them. His lips merely moved a few times.
"..."
Mera blinked her beautiful eyes as well, staring in disbelief at Zhang Yang, who was still considering how to continue attacking, whether it was safe, and whether his opponent was truly dead.
"That should be enough."
In the end, Zhang Yang gave up on continuing to cast spells. He only knew so many spells, so there was nothing else he could do even if he wanted to continue.
More importantly, it seemed that even the system could not stand watching anymore, and it rang out beside his ear.
"Ding, congratulations, Host, for killing a half-demon. Reward obtained: Body Strength +5!"
It was still that warm current and the same sensation, but this time, the explosive increase in power within Zhang Yang gave him the illusion that he could shatter the earth with one punch.
However, with Perfect Control, he took only a moment to perfectly control his body and the physical strength that had surged to sixteen times that of an ordinary person.
Having completely stopped, Zhang Yang turned around. He had only taken one step when Harry and the other two retreated several steps like startled rabbits.
"What are you doing?"
Zhang Yang looked at the three of them in confusion, not knowing what they were up to.
Why were they treating him like some terrifying monster?
"You..."
In the end, Harry, as the man among them, stepped forward. After swallowing hard, he asked Zhang Yang, "You're not going to attack again, are you?"
"Of course not!"
The confusion on Zhang Yang's face deepened. "Even if I did, I wouldn't attack you. What are you afraid of?"
"That's good!"
Mera patted her chest, drawing the gazes of the two men present as they followed the movement of her ample bosom.
"By the way, who was that man just now?"
Only after killing him did Zhang Yang remember that they did not even know the man's identity or why he had attacked them.
"He was probably a demon from Hell."
Harry hesitated. "Or perhaps one of those half-demons living among humans?"
"Probably a half-demon."
Mera added, "Otherwise, he would not have had the chance to deceive ordinary people into sacrificing themselves, opening a passage, and summoning demons from Hell."
"Probably."
Zhang Yang nodded as well. He felt that Mera's view was closer to the truth, but whatever the details were, the man was already dead. What else could they do?
With the death of the suited man, the darkness gradually receded, and light returned to the world.
After the group went outside, they discovered that the police station was strewn with corpses, with gnawed bodies everywhere.
"This..."
At the sight, Angela nearly threw up!
Although she was a police officer and had seen plenty of bloody scenes, even personally killing several vicious criminals, seeing so many people dead in such a manner—many of them colleagues she saw every day—made waves of nausea and terror wash over her.
It was truly terrifying.
